It’s a cool idea, but the item worked for 30 seconds then the center part fell out.
That's confusing, the center key can't come out without removing the north key. The intention is for the north key to be in the position closest to the longer flat side, per the images.
As a fidget, it's incredible. As a keyboard, I would not be a fan.
The 3D printing did mean it was a bit cheaply constructed and which piece went in front and which in back wasn't clear. When I tried to swap and see if I did it wrong, I broke a piece.
Very effective and cheap way to understand how the mechanism feels and works. If you are thinking “that can’t possibly work”, this is for you. Each key moves with a feather touch, but somehow also gives satisfying, precise feedback. Also doubles as an addictive fidget toy, as promised.
Good build quality for 3D printed.
The sample cluster was great for learning whether or not my tremors are bad enough to mess up typing on the svalboard (they aren't) and seeing how comfortable the typing experience is (the crispest snap on press that just can't be described). Now it makes a great fidget toy while I hit up the discord and see what progress has been made on a zmk mainboard. I don't need batteries, but I do need bluetooth connectivity.
