Buy a Svalboard Lightly factory build and get a 3 month trial period.  If you decide to return it, you'll receive a full refund (less shipping and import taxes*) minus restocking and trial fees.

The base restocking fee for a factory build is $100. The remaining trial fee will be charged proportionate to the duration of the trial (from *delivery* to you to *delivery* to us), at the rate of $100/mo (prorated) as long as the device is received in clean cosmetic and fully functional condition.

Shipping damage or excessive cleaning needed for a returned unit may lead to additional refurbishment charges -- please pack carefully and keep it tidy.

This gives you the incredible opportunity to try out Svalboard to assess whether it's the right fit for your needs, while still making it possible for us to keep the business afloat with the necessary refurbishment/replacement of parts to make returned units saleable.

Remember: we're a tiny, bootstrap business selling a very labor-intensive physical prosthesis in a world where the competition is largely mass produced, or custom and utterly-nonrefundable.  We appreciate your support 🙏

Kit purchases are non-refundable after shipping.

*For international returns we are unable to perform customs "drawbacks" and thus cannot refund import taxes. In some cases it may be possible to perform the drawback for these fees yourself within your local jurisdiction. We cannot take responsibility for this process or provide any import documentation, but we can provide a commercial invoice on request.

The Svalboard Warranty

Factory Builds

All full builds are covered by a 1 year warranty.  If any part fails as a result of a manufacturing defect or in normal usage (accidental damage not included) we will replace it.  Domestic US shipping under warranty is free – international shipping costs beyond domestic are the responsibility of the user.

In case of accidental damage, or beyond the warranty period, we sell replacement parts – customer pays shipping/handling.

Kits

We test all components going out to ensure you receive a fully functioning set.  We can’t take responsibility for the functionality of the end product for kit builds.

In case of accidental damage we provide replacement parts for sale.

We cannot be responsible for ESD damage to PCBAs during the kit build process, etc, so please take every precaution – use best practices including a grounding strap and an anti-static work surface.

We also cannot be responsible for rough handling during the kit assembly process.  Please be gentle with PCBAs during assembly to avoid physical damage.

All other products

1 year warranty on manufacturing defects.

1 month return period for non-consumable products.

Used trackballs cannot be returned, as they wear during use.
